Sorry to be a pain and ask but I think that we have all had something different and it is really interesting to see the different fabrics available.

No, you are not a pain, just at the moment I am at school. As soon as I get home in the evening, I will take a photo, no problem at all. Could have thought of it myself.

Nothing from the postie today - and I stayed in all morning waiting too
I ordered my floss for the SAL I'm starting soon with Serinde, a week ago now from Tandem Cottage and it hasn't arrived yet. I'm getting a bit worried now as I've e-mailed them and got no reply and their web site isn't working either. If nothing comes tomorrow I'll phone them.

Oh I'm so glad you got it Mabel!
I had a good post day today.
I got a skein of black from Kins! (Thank you Kins, I'm really pleased.
).
I also got 12 threads I won off ebay recently.
And a lovely letter from aunt, telling me my Uncle is improving now. So that made my day.
(He had a heart attack recently and arrested three times, one of his sons was able to keep him going until the paramedics got there).

We got an amusing letter from the TV licencing authority pointing out that Gray has recently bought a TV and doesn't have a TV licence.
The TV licence is in my name...

I got the Oriental Cross Stitch book from bert. Thank you much! It's lovely. I've got some things ready to be mailed once I find something to put them in.
And I also got a couple of pieces of fabric from ebay. I found a local person who is trying out dying their own fabric. The pieces are not very big but I've got the perfect project for them. One side of the fabric seems to be darker than the other but they look good. One is yellow hues and the other is blues.

Yes, I received two small hoops and two photo-folders from Threadbear, along with some really beautiful sparkly threads. Thank you so much, Threadbear! They are lovely.
About the phoptoalbums I am still hesitating, I might give them to my two nieces, and help them to make a small collection of photos of their parents, grandparents, perhaps a drawing or two. Or I might offer them as prizes for the tombola in the school's ball - we collect money for the schools foundation.

Re: Has the postperson brought you anything nice today?
No you can buy a TV without a licence Rose but then you have to pay a yearly licence fee to watch it.
You have to be covered by a valid TV Licence if you watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV. Another point is that it makes no difference what equipment you use - whether it’s a laptop, PC, mobile phone, digital box, DVD recorder or a TV set - you would still need a licence. However someone like my mum, who has a TV but doesn't use it to watch television, only DVD's and video's. wouldn't need one. If someone said they were doing that but were sneakily watching TV, they'd face a hefty fine.
They do check up on any household with no licence.
Once you are 75, you can get a free TV Licence for your home, even if you live with younger relatives or friends.
A colour TV Licence costs £139.50. A black and white TV Licence costs £47.00.
