Quite big!! About 10"x20" I'd say.

I've just taken a good look at Pt3. Phew! I've my work cut out!! Lots of speciality stitches, a ton of metallic, plus one or two good old whole cross stitches. Don't exect to see this part finished any time soon

I have a confession ... I feel like a traitor ... I've joined another forum

  Of course, nothing replaces this marvellous place, but I have signed up to a Chatelaine forum, mostly to see others' versions of the Mystery Stitch to ensure I'm doing the right thing  I had no idea how much I looked at the 'cover photo' of a design, until there wasn't one!!

Well, I had a sneaky stitching day on Monday. I worked all day on Part 3 and have barely scratched the surface. It was quite disheartening actually. to have put in that many hours to realise I have done about an 8th of it. Still, it's looking good. I'll hang in there and post another pic after the weekend.

This is absolutely stunning!

I think joining the Chatelaine forum is a great idea. Having no cover photo must be difficult, I always find that glancing at that spurs me on to complete a project.

Stand up now, and confess it out loud: "I am Slinky, and I Have Joined Another Forum" :-D

Seems like a very sensible idea, actually; the more help, support, encouragement, advice and tips you can get for a project like this, the better!

I can understand what you mean about the cover picture -- it wasn't until I started designing my own that I realised how different things can look in fabric & thread from what they look like charted (which is why I think every model I've stitched so far has lead to changes being made). Kell, do you find that too?

It's part of the Mystery, isn't it :-)? And it depends on the sort of stitcher you are whether that spurs you on or irritates you -- hope it's the former for you Jane! I tend to be a wuss and wait until a SAL has run its course, then decide whether to stitch it...

I joined the Chatelaine forum too, I think it's a smart thing to do when working on one of those designs - there are a lot of tips & tricks from stitchers who are working on the designs, plus a section to ask questions of the designer. Plus the WIP pics from the other stitchers, which is helpful because the "model" pictures on the website are very small & hard to see. With such an intricate & detailed design, it is nice to have somewhere to go if you have questions!

Hang in there with your stitching & can't wait to see another picture :)

Well I think it's terrible you've joined another forum and I'm withholding all chocolate supplies until you see the error of your ways!

No, seriously, it makes sense to go and get advice and tips off people who are used to these designs and can give you any help you need.

I must admit I use the picture alot when I stitch as well, although I hadn't really thought about it until you said.
I do think this is a beautiful piece though and I'm really enjoying seeing how it stitches up.
