Just sent in my request to join the SAL. Wrote somethings stupid because so hope they don't turn me down! I can't write only 200 characters.
My house is going to never get cleaned since I now only will have time for stitching and online groups and forums.

Hoping to hear back from them soon Carole--I sent in my request yesterday but haven't heard back from them so far

I expect it will take a day or so. I think when I joined the "Cat Mystery Group" (no big surprise right? my only non stitch group) it took a few days. It took nearly took weeks to hear back from the HAED BB. Which I really also need to spend some time on. It should be fun though if several of us are working on the same SAL. If I need extra encouragement I know where to come.

I had to check my yahoo email acct--something I rarely ever use! Need to sort out how to get the emails directed to my hotmail one. Anyway, the application was in my spam box in yahoo, I've extracted it from there and have sent it in, now just waiting to hear back from them

I have two emails listed with yahoo. my yahoo account which I never use (so maybe I will see if I can remember the password - written down somewhere - probably the same as my yahoo password), and my gmail account which I use a lot and which I chose for that group also. But I guess I ought to double check the yahoo account. OMG I haven't looked at it in weeks and weeks and weeks. Noone uses it so anything in there will be trash I guess. But I'm still thinking it will take a while. If I don't hear anything back in a day or so I will try again.

Karen - I get all my yahoo mail directed to my hotmail, you can change your primary email address in your yahoo account information. Hopefully you'll get accepted soon, the mods manage to cover the forum practically 24 hours, I'll look out for you -Mabel is already there....

I've managed to get the emails directed to my hotmail and have been approved, even posted my first post there, just waiting to see it appear now. I love the looks of the great escape and hope that I get approval for that very soon

Well, so far nothing heard from the new group for me. How long did it take for you to get an application from them? Do you think I should wait another day or reapply on the forum?

just checked. it says "waiting approval from the group owner". I guess I am just the impatient kind.

Almost immediately; I got the approval and posted, although I don't think it's appeared yet. And I've applied for the password for the SAL -- getting all excited

Well, I must not have written the right thing in my little 200 spaces blurb. If I get turned down I will be so embarrassed. It took forever for the HAED BB for me too. It says the questionnaire should come immediately and it hasn't. If it takes a few days maybe they will let me try again?

More likely it's some sort of electronic glitch and your email got spammed or something. If you haven't heard tomorrow, I'd try again. Why would they turn down anyone who comes to them from the illustrious Cross Stitch Forum !
