I just love the expression on this hamster's face!
Have you seen this little fellow? He was on a recent BBC programme with the wonderful Sir David Attenborough. "One Planet-Seven Worlds"

Prepare to laugh out loud!!

He does know very well that he is being a bit naughty: We can see it in his eyes
Great update, Sally!
Wendy, the video is priceless. So funny!

Oh Dear Wendy thank you so much for the video. It is good to start the day with a giggle plus I get to see a real live Hamster - we don't have them down under.
Thank you everyone else too for the encouragement. DD starts back at work today so I have the house to myself for a few hours and hopefully out on the balcony stitching but that will depend on the wind's strength and direction.

How did I miss this?! Just had to go back 3 pages to see previous updates! He is absolutely gorgeous Sally and I love the fabric you're stitching him on! This guy will always be special to me being the very first model stitch for Bothy I ever did! Can't wait to see more!

Oh dear that poor hamster - I shouldn't really laugh at his plight but I'm afraid I did

Thank you for that video Wendy, it's good to have such a belly laugh to start the day! (Don't you just love the way they walk?)

Hopefully another update for you. I have finally reached the outer right hand edge and finished the first half of the design. I have sort of resigned myself that it won't be finished in time for the birthday so he will get it a few weeks later. The lower half of the design is wide and about 1 1/2 blocks bigger than what I have managed so far. I know the next 13 days before we fly out have about 5 days when there will be little chance to stitch so it is what it is. I will take it with me though so he can at least see it and I can confer with my excellent framer about the finished article.
OK with any luck there is the picture.
Thanks for Looking and for your encouragement - I need it with this one.

Sally, but you have done a great piece of work within such a short period of time! Even unfinished, he is a character all right, so your Son will see the idea of the preesent. I am sure that now, that you took off the reins of the deadline from your mind, the work will go faster. Happy stitching!

This is a great update, Sally! As Lyudmila said, Stuffy is a real character already. His eyes say it all.
It is a super idea to take it with you and discuss what kind of frame will be suitable with the framer. They usually put different coloured pieces of wood next to the design to see what suits best. What shape and size should the frame be can be discussed, also.
Well done, Sally

It's a great update and as Lyudmila says there is so much character there already your son will have a good idea of his present - and this way he'll have twice the enjoyment, seeing it now and the anticipation of receiving it finished!

I agree. It’s like two gifts. I also agree with the others who mentioned that now that the pressure is off, you’ll enjoy him more and get more done.

Thank You ALL for your lovely comments and yes it is good to know - somewhere in my "scattered brain" that I can ease off a little bit. Just have to keep reminding myself I am not superwoman by a long stretch of the imagination.
