Thank you very much, Lyudmilla about the information about The Red Guelder Rose and the wonderful watercolours of Elena Bazanova.
Your stitching of the Guelder Rose is splendid! Wow!

After the long hours of stitching the other day, may be you need a rest before starting afresh. :D

Know what you mean about quarantining . Today will be my first venture out in nearly 2 months. Not much of a venture. A good friend was here about a week or so ago and we had lunch on my patio. 6 feet apart since restaurants had not opened yet other than for delivery or pick up. She picked up lunch at a local place and brought it. Today is my turn. Assuming I remember how to drive (have started the car a few times) and haven't developed agoraphobia :P . My turn to do a curbside pick up for lunch. The only one who will be upset by this, I'm sure, is Rosey. She has had me all to herself, other than when I talk with numbers or my daughter comes by and all of those conversations have been with proper social distancing. My current worry is that everything is opening up, IMHO, too soon, but I am a worry wart.

Take care Lyudmyla. Sending you a virtual hug too!!!

Thank you, Carole.
It is the first day when the parks and forests are open for walks. Mine called me to invite for a walk, as there is nothing about oldies on the list of restrictions which remain. I imagined how I will be lagging behind (7 km round walk and I- completely out of practice) and stayed home to stitch. I did unpick the whole back of the poor squirrel which had been stitched and unpicked twice since 6am, and started all over again. Now both the squirrels are watching me as I stitch.

Mabel, Chervona Ruta is a love song. And ruta is rue. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chervona_Ruta_(song)
The Red Guelder Rose in the Meadow" is a patriotic one.

Now, Stitchers, who can tell me what is wrong with London in Merejka's "London Christmas" K-159?

No. The funniest thing is that I noticed it before my English friend did.

Thank you Lyudmila. It is a catching tune indeed and I enjoyed following the words, the best I could. I shall enjoy stitching my Guelder Rose, knowing its Ukrainian history.

Well done for your perseverance with the squirrels! :applesauce:

Well, apart from the snow and no scaffolding on Big Ben, they seem to be driving on the wrong side of the road... perhaps they are all American service personnel with diplomatic immunity?

It looks odd having traffic lights facing the viewer as opposed to the traffic, and the taxi looks as if the driver is on the right rather than left of the vehicle, as does the bus driver of the bus in the centre of the road, though that could be a passenger waiting to get off.

The oddest thing is seeing snow in London, given that all the waste energy has raised its temperature by 2C above the surrounding areas.

Regards,

Richard.

Very topical!

Yes! They are all facing the same way!! Perhaps it's a One-way system and they are all going the Wrong Way!!

They are driving on the left, but look at the traffic lights on the right side of the road! They are facing the looker, so are turned in the opposite direction. Dozens of stitchers have already stitched the picture, showing the result on different forums and instagram, yet nobody has changed the mistake. At this many had been to London. Which shows how "attentive" we are.

This is so beautiful, Lyudmila! The designs are perfect for each other on this table runner. You certainly made a fabulous job of them. :applesauce:

Thank you, Helene. I always saw them as a duet. The photo does not give credit to the colours, which is a pity.

Thank you for your kind words. I will need all your support when I start this tablerunner's twin( only this time on the 14ct snow white Zweighart Aida) tomorrow. Today was edging the fabric for it and then was out to breathe in some fresh air(untill it began raining :D ).

Beautiful! Can't imagine doing it twice -- a true labour of love, I think.
