(Would you believe that it took me years to realise that his name was meant to sound like a donkey's noise? In Dutch he is known as "Iejoor", which phonetically sounds like the English except we pronounce the R at the end, and it doesn't sound the slightest bit like the noise Dutch children are taught donkeys make )

(I just stayed at a delightful AirBnB on the Thames, and my hostess was a Greek lady of 80 who is bridge-mad and so hospitable you'd come away 10 pounds heavier if you ate everything she offered!)

(Registrars use an Iron Gall based archival ink, which is supposed to be readable for at least 400 years. My daughter Enya has seen Elizabethan documents where the mix was slightly wrong ((ending up acidic)) and the words were readable only by virtue of the letter shaped holes in the paper where the ink ate away the paper...)
