You could try baking soda dissolved in some warm water and just soak the stained bit in it. The sooner it is out the more likely you will get it all out, or at least that is what I have discovered in the past. A stain I left for a week or so was sooooo difficult to get out as it had 'set' into the fabric.
The design is gorgeous and so it your work. Just love the colours.

Good luck with the stain! Shame on that water fowl drinking grape juice when you're not around

Absolutely gorgeous!
About the stain: I don't have any ideas for cleaning it, but I do have a suggestion for the future. I noticed that some of my pieces were getting grubby too. So now I mount the fabric on the frame, then flip the frame over so that the rolled part is at the front instead of the back. Then I start stitching.
That way, the part resting on my lap will always be the back side of the work, not the front. Helps to keep the front from getting worn or grubby from resting against my lap.
Hope that makes sense!

i also have both ends of my scroll rolling so that the back side of the fabric is on the outside. mine is completely filthy, particularly the top from my left hand holding position. i'm hoping it will come out and i'm being much more careful with new projects.
if the stain doesn't come out, it there a possibility of stitching over it with white? it may require stitching all sides equally with white though.

All good ideas, thank you!
I'm hoping the stain won't be on the stitched area and might be able to be covered up with a mount if washing doesn't get rid of it.
I also thought a topical application of Vanish might work (being very careful to to let it touch the rest of the work)
Previously I've worked on hoops and held the underside, or on a floor stand frame which means I didn't touch the fabric. This is the first time I've had the fabric on my lap whilst stitching. A definite learning experience!

This is so gorgeous, I really hope you can either get it out or disguise it in some way. It looks a bit offset to the stitched area, so here's hoping it won't be a problem for you.
Lovely work though.

This weeks update:
I really like the ducks head. He looks so real to me! Really not looking forward to stitching his body though - it's all grey and white, bleurgh!
I'm trying to make even progress on the way down, so just the bit at the side to fill in on this line. Sadly that's also the bit where I went wrong ages and ages ago so I'm trying to fill in everything around that square so that my reference points are correct before finishing that section.

Yup, love the duck, he looks great.

Hope you can get the problem area sorted quite easily, then you can relax and enjoy the rest of the project.
