It has been forever since I've been in here. DD is home from school today with a fever and stomach ache, so I need to cancel my 11-3 work shift. So, I guess today will become a stitching day. I've really gotten in a groove with Dragon Droppings. So....can I please have a drink and a seat over by the window to the Cross Stitchers Ward so I can keep an eye on DD?

Thanks. I ended up taking her to the doctor this afternoon since her fever went up to 103.4 F. She just has a virus that causes a sore throat and high fever. Doctor said it usually lasts about 3 days. I've cancelled my other work shift for today and one for tomorrow. At least I finally got her to eat something at dinner. She had mac 'n cheese and a popsicle.

Macaroni and cheese is a sovereign remedy for many childish ills, I've discovered over the years. Also Jello (jelly to us in the UK).

Thanks. She's perked up some today. Unfortunately she was climbing into bed with me at 4:30 because she couldn't sleep. With most kids this isn't a problem, but she doesn't sleep when she's in bed with me and usually refuses to leave the bed. Finally got her in her own bed at 5:30 and alarm went off at 6:30. I cancelled my work shift today, so I guess it's a stitchy day. :D

Well, I just dropped in here for a :coffee: and :cake: before I set to, and start work again. It's that time of year: very, very busy with the Big Book. Even the exhibition stitching is having to take a back seat. :? If you don't see me much, it's because I'm chained to QuarkXPress and not the forum... :x :( :ratherbe:

Okay...where's the sound proof room so I can scream at the top of my lungs??????

Ahhhhhh. Better now. Can I please have a supply of coke zero and hot chocolate so I can de-stress over by the fire? I've had it with soccer coaches not doing what they said they would (half of them backed out so now DH and I are coaching 1 team and probably taking over another one). Plus, I could strangle the parents who aren't calling me back!!!!

I really need some stitching time away from the 40 item to do list, cake orders for this weekend, soccer stuff, PTO stuff, business stuff, and everything else.

 Rant over....I just need to scream or punch something. :shifty:

Oh don't mind me.. I'll just grab one of the sofa's in front of the big window for a while. I am just not ready to go back to work. My break was not long enough again today.. just in a stitchy zone and want to keep going. Because really.. stitching is a lot more fun than work is on any day. And just knowing what my schedule will be like, my stitchy time will be severly limited the next few weeks. I really could use all that I can right now. Thanks much.

I'll do my rounds.. look over all your shoulders at what you're working on.. if you need something from the bar.. don't get up.. I haven't situated myself yet, I'll be happy to bring you what you need... thread? a little sweet treat? adjust your floor stand? fluff the pillows? change the music?

Aaarggh! I could eat 10 eggless pieces of :cake: right now. The Blogger has been stuck in a mud so to speak. Every single message has been a struggle to get through. And I am in the middle of a project in which I am using leftover yarns. I can't give reports, if the Blogger does not obey. I've knitted lately more than stitched. But I've stitched too.

Its a beautifully hot day, my daughter is happily playing in the garden so I have my small project out (my big one is kept until my daughter is in bed) so can I please have a small glass of medium white wine and a bowl of ice-cream for my daughter! Thankyou

(Am I doing this right - I've not visited this room before)

Hey sarah! I'm glad it's such a nice day for you too. I'm off out into the backgarden myself soon. A bit dubious though as my only project left to do has 60+ colours in it :?

And welcome to the stash and grab, there's no right or wrong, just have fun ^_^

Just stopped by for a very nice sangria (please add some brandy in it bartender). Ignore me; I'm just going to crash over on that comfy sofa. I got done doing only 5min (of a 20 min) Zumba workout. I'm don't think getting sick was a good idea last week.

Question bartender: Can we bring a cat or two in here?

Can I have something a bit strong, just to steady my nerves, you know, for purely medicinal purposes. I need to do some cooking and baking and cleaning... And I am so excited :) Stephen is coming tomorrow!!!

I have caught the sun which has left me with a banging headache so I will take a seat furthest away from the juke box and flick through a magazine. I will have a nice cold glass of orange squash please. Anyone who fancies a chat is free to join me! X

Sorry to hear it's given you a headache T_T Hope you recover from it soon. I love the sunshine and would be out there right now if I could, but my family's coming over either today or tomorrow, so I need to straighten up the living room....and watch for mr postie...

Just a cup of tea right now, please. Have to sit down for a minute in the middle of cooking and cleaning at the same time  Shouldn't have left it to the last minute...

I just discovered this discussion. I take it anyone can enter? I would love a place where I could have a cup of hot chocolate and a German chocolate cake and a Hershey bar for dessert. I haven't had any chocolate in 35 years when I developed an acute allergy to the stuff. (Giant Hives) Actually, I have managed just fine with vanilla and strawberry and lots of other too good sweet stuff, but this place looks like a dream made for me.

@rotfl:

I read all the posts and loved them. What fun goes on in here!
