Thanks, everyone! She loves it so much. Since we were over by Michael's this afternoon we went looking to see if there were any ready made frames that would be the right size, but there weren't. We wound up getting a quote and they wanted $97 after the 60% off coupon. Which I knew it was going to be expensive and over priced - I even told my mom, but she insisted we get an estimate any way. We're going to go to my LNS (which is not so local - ~30 min drive each way) The Rocking Horse sometime in the next couple of weeks to see about getting it framed there. that their price is much more reasonable.

Anyway. I started working on a bookmark for a friend who is majorly into the game Portal. I got the pattern for it free from Sprite Stitch and then charted up my own text.



The left side is complete and will be the "front" of the bookmark and the left is in progress and will be the "back". The text on the back will read "Now, let's do some science!" and will be placed beneath the blue portal. I'm stitching it with DMC Florescent light effects E1020 and E1040. It's been a bit of a pain to work with because it keeps shredding at the ends, but thread heaven has helped a lot with it. As much as a pain as it is, I feel it is totally worth the effect! I'll need to iron it when it's done, just need to look up what settings to use to do it.

I finished the bookmark this afternoon after having to frog the text on the orange side and move it down a row. I had already finished the border on the blue side when I realized that the orange side was a row taller than the blue side because of the extra row of text.

Anyway, I'm happy with how it turned out and after dinner I think I will be getting back to work on Grace.
