Wedding

(My neighbour's daughter is getting married today! We are looking forward to it, although DH isn't really able to party much anymore, so we'll watch the "young people" enjoy the ceilidh.)

(we were at a wedding yesterday, and DH drove the wedding car - the 1925 Austin 7 Chummy [fortunately the dress wasn't too meringuey]. And I can't help wondering when going to English weddings why the meal at 3 or 4pm is called a breakfast, even if in the past it actually was)

(But it is one of the delightful and harmless things about living in the UK, doncha think?)

Grade Six

Everyday, my grade six teacher played the album Fiddler On the Roof. The first song is Tradition. (I cannot say that word like a normal person. I have to sing it.)

Piano

(Music exams in the UK are given in grades. Grade 3 is the easiest Piano grade, with Grade 8 being the hardest, iirc. Being entirely immune to any sense of rhythm, it's not something that has figured highly in my awareness.)

(Looks as if there might be a Piano grade 1, with it being mostly music theory. The fact music has a theory is a surprise to me... To be honest I know so little about music that I haven't the faintest idea of how much I don't know, which is always a hazardous place to be.)
