I'm in awe, Mabel. It was wonderful getting to see all of your finished pieces. I can't decide which one is my favourite, but then again, I've always had a weakness for hummingbird patterns.

Over the weekend I finished the monochrome Mother and Child that Mayne found us. I changed a few things about it, making it slightly smaller, in the hope that it would do for this year's Christmas cards, but I think it may be a little too labour intensive for mass production, especially with the beads. I like the result though, so I may do a few more.

This one was done on 18ct red aida using Dinky Dyes stranded silk (61 Pearl) and Mill Hill petite seed beads (42027 Champagne). I used the fly-fishing silk to attach the beads and it worked very well!

It's not easy to see in the photograph, but the Dinky Dyes silk is off white with darker cream in it, an looks rather like parchment.
