A gorgeous design, and a lovely reason to be stitching it! It is definitely a very comforting image...I can almost imagine being inside that cabin with the roaring fire

Thanks guys! I did the backstitch on the section I completed yesterday...wow, that's really hard!  I kept losing my place on the pattern. Is there a trick, or is it just practice? :?

I won't get much done today, sadly; doing so much on Friday flared up a little bit of tendonitis and now it hurts to pinch a needle between my thumb and index finger. I'll try to do a little bit of stitching later today but will just have to rest and let it recover.

Here's progress so far...as per usual with my phone's camera, the photo is way darker than it is in real life. The trees look black but there are actually four or five different shades of green, purple, and gray in them.

That is so thoughtful and I am sure your friends will be delighted with your gift as it is made from the heart.
You have made a great start and I can empathise with the sore finger. The tip of my middle finger gets so sore pushing the needle in and I can not get used to a thimble.!

Keep going as you are doing such a great job.

 It's looking beautiful! When I backstitch I have to shade in the lines very heavily with pencil to keep track of where I am. Hope the tendonitis eases up soon!

I do that too, but then I color in over the backstitch lines, if that makes sense. Like, I color the stitches, but then I have to have a second highlighter color to keep track of the backstitch. I think this is why wine and stitching go together so well!

That's so gorgeous! :applesauce: :applesauce: :P It reminds me a lot of Aurora's Cabin, which I'm thinking about getting for my next project. =)
