Pretty ring, just two weks to wait.

Week and a half to go and the card is all ready...



I wrote a new poem. I know it's not very good, but it's all mine this time. I had some silver-flecked aida in my stash which matches the ring nicely. I think the ring will probably be a little small for him but it was all I could get for the moment, and after he says yes we can go back and find out his correct size and order that in.

He hasn't got a clue that I'm going to do this, it's going to be a complete surprise, and I love that. I think I'm going to try to find some kind of little box to put it in, something about the size of a DVD case, to really disguise it when he opens it...

The Big Day is one week away. My engagement ring (the pictures really do not do it justice) arrived today.

I'm going to try to find a DVD gift box, put some wadding in it to stop the card from rattling around, then cut out a rectangle for this to sit in. After I cook him breakfast and bring him all his actual birthday presents I'll bring him the gift box as a last extra-special present. (I've bought him a few DVDs as well so it will be disguised nicely.) I will then hope that he says yes, before we go out to lunch with his sister and her boyfriend!

How exciting this is! I hope it all comes together very nicely for you!! And with all that you've done to pull this off, I don't see how he could NOT say YES!!

I've hit a very slight, slightly ridiculous, snag...

Can anyone suggest where I could get a DVD gift box? I've tried every dedicated greetings card/gift wrap shop I can think of and turned up repeatedly empty! Any help would be brilliant! If I can't find one I think I'll get a small picture frame and frame it without the glass, but I really like the idea of the box...

What about the boxes that the padded xmas cards come in buy a cheapone & use the box xx
