Here's the latest with the Rooster. I put it on hold for about 2 weeks and now I'm back to working on it. The right top quarter panel is backstitched and I'm about 1/2 way through stitching the left top quarter panel.

Your rooster is looking so realistic! How many colors are in his wings? I guess a better question to ask, is there shading in his wings or are they solid colors?

There are 7 different colors in his tail feathers. Two of the colors are blends, the rest are solid. There's some double 3/4 stitches that creates some of the shading effect, as well as there being two shades of brown (one lighter and one darker that transitions the brown to the black) and two shades of grey.Nachstenliebe wrote:Your rooster is looking so realistic! Here's the latest...another quarter stitched. I had to take a couple of days off from it because of work and my allergies causing eye problems. But I'm off Monday so there will be extra stitching time this weekend

Still have the backstitching to do on this panel, but thought I'd share what it looks like before the backstitch since it completely changes once done .
Ohhh and looking back at my previous pictures, this is the first time the lighting has been correct to really show the lemon color of the fabric.
