These Mill Hill Kits are really excellent. What do you plan to do with them, or I guess the real question is, how are they to be displayed at Christmas?

I have to figure out how I'm going to back them, they they will be used to decorate the tree. Growing up we always had hand-made ornaments on the tree. Only about 10% of them were store bought ones. Now that I'm on my own I miss that personalized touch at Christmas time. A lot of the ones I had grown up with have slowly fallen apart, broken, or disintegrated. The knitted ones with white glitter were my favorite, there's only 1 left now...I have to snag that off of my mom before my sister can! :P

As for backing, I haven't figured that out yet. I read online that using glue to adhere felt to the back can cause an issue with the glue seeping through the holes. And the felt absorbs the glue before it can actually get a good hold to the ornament.
I've debated buying sheets of perforated paper and doing long stitches, then attaching that to the back with stitches, but I'm concerned that might make it too bulky.

How about sticky-back felt?

Don't know where I have been but never seen the mill hill ornaments before. They are very clever and you are doing a fantastic job of them.

And the Mill Hill Mandolin ornament:

I'm really enjoying these. I just wish they didn't hurt my wrists so much!

Thanks! I have a flexible wrist brace that I wear during stitching. I'm not sure why these kits are so hard on my wrist. I think its because I'm used to holding a frame, not just a thin piece of paper board. Then getting the thicker needle under the back stitches I've found to be very difficult too. But that's ok, because I still have a bag full of these kits to do!

I had similar issues with some Needle Magic ones, same size, I think the small movements are just more stress on all the little wrist bones and tendons, etc. And at least you still have lots of time 'til Xmas. :D
