In my long hunt for a way to make my work look realistic, I found I really loved working on small count fabric. I typically stitch on 28 or 32 count, 1 over 1, using one strand. The effect, when I do an animal or insect project, is fabulous; it's like looking at a painting. I hope to have a project finished soon to share.

Even though I have no problem seeing close work, it is definitely a challenge sometimes when stitching. Very good lighting is key, and even then, working on projects when the floss colour is close to the fabric colour is most difficult. Oh, and working on black is really a bugger. The resulting project is totally worth it though.
