Kid-free holiday!

That's great!
We used to take a couple of days without the kids every year, in September - left the kids with the grandparents. So important!
Now the kids are almost all grown up (we have six, the youngest is 12), so it should be easier... but somehow life is only more complicated.
I'm in Sociology of Health, now waiting for the ethics committee to approve my research and then am going to start the data collection. And most of the required credits are completed. So right now, I can find some stitching time (though sometimes it comes before the laundry, etc.

)

Apologies for the delay, but I have been busy, stitching and otherwise.
Here's the progress so far:
The half stitches built up quite quickly, but the semi-confetti nature of the horse and George himself have slowed me down lately.
Close up of horse:
The photo is a bit blurred (sorry, very old camera) but the colour changes show up reasonably well. Though you can't see all of the various (5 I think) shades of cream too well.
Still enjoying him though, I hope to have the first page finished fairly soon now. Once George is done it'll be half stitch blocks of sky to the end of the page. I'm quite looking forward to only have 4 shades of blue to deal with for a bit

The horse is dramatic! So much is conveyed in his pose.
