Didn't get her done by October. Oops! Life got in the way like craft fairs and going down to Vancouver to help my grandparents set up for Christmas so wasn't able to work on her even for Christmas!
Well anywho while my mermaid was drying I decided to pick it up and work on it some more before I realized I haven't updated on here much! So here is the latest update:
I plan on working on her some more the next few days. But I want to start focusing more on my own designs!

She is lovely and you have made a lot of progress even if you didn't get it done in time for last Christmas. You have plenty of time for this Christmas. The colors are so bright and festive, this must be fun to stitch.

Beautiful!

I find this one the most tempting of all Joan Elliott's designs.

She is fabulous and you don't have a lot more stitching to do, just all those beads and back stitching of course.
I am sure you will have her finished in plenty of time for next Christmas.

I worked on her some more the past few days passing the time between Canuck hockey games (They forced a game 5 today BTW!! HEHE!!) I picked her up going into the second period and that must have worked since they ended up scoring as soon as I started stitching so I stitched throughout the game.
I did her face then decided to do the back stitching since she looked freaky without it! I also did a little dove who is so cute! And I managed to get one wing done with a majority of the back stitching done on it, it is backstitching in #4 very fine braid and has an amazing subtle sparkle when the light shines on it. This is my one and only project I am taking to my grandparent's to work on and hopefully I can get the red shawl done before putting her down again.

She is beautiful. I sometimes do the backstitching as I go along also because it breaks it up, plus I love to see the design take shape as I stitch. You are doing a great job.

She is looking really amazing now and with so much life in her. Great stitching too. Well done

I hope you get to where you are aiming for before you have to put her down again.
