hello once again,

here is the latest update

Image

for those who have the designs you'll see I've made a few changes to the August and October borders.

August: changed to dmc 3825 (anchor 336, Madeira 302)

October: changed to dmc 722 (anchor 323, Madeira 307)

hopefully this will make for a more balanced layout of the colours. the next one to do is the November chrysanthemum which will be pink instead of orange.

:applesauce: these are lovely. I like what you did with the border colors. They really complement the flowers and help them stand out. :applesauce:

It's looking lovely. Nice work on the borders.

I've made a mental note of the 'orange' problem, ready for when I do mine :)

ok, i know i only updated this 4 days ago but i've worked feverishly since then to get the november one done. Why? because this was something untried for me. having only cross stitched for just over 3 years now, i still consider myself a relative newbie and to do something like changing the colour scheme on a design filled me with both enthusiasm for new challenge and the sheer dread of making a right royal muck up of it.

anyway here is the original design:

and my finished result

as you see, by making the chrysanthemum pink instead of orange evens out the colours. for anyone interested i used DMC
819 instead of 3823,
602 instead of 3853,
603 instead of 3854,
605 instead of 3855 and
309 instead of 3776.

pheww!!!!!! i'm off for a rest and a cuppa :D :tea:

I think you've done a great job at changing colors. You should consider yourself one step closer to to being an old expert. :applesauce:

:applesauce: Not only did you do an excellent job, I think I like it a lot better than the original one. and it definitely works better in the overall piece. Great job. It was worth the anxiety that you shouldn't have the next time you make some changes. (which I understand, because I almost never do either).
