Its my Q Snap cover -some call them grime guards. It keeps all my extra material rolled up and out of the way. It also helps keep my hand oils off my fabric. Whatever woman thought of them was a genius- I hope she's made her millions and is stitching away on a tropical beach somewhere.
I think I bought that one through Yarn Tree. Picked up another when I was at Nordic Needle last weekend- most shops that sell Q Snaps have these hanging near by. Theres also an online tutorial for making your own- they look quite simple. Enter Q Snap Cover into the search box and that should bring up a recent discussion we had about them.

quilty wrote:such a cute chart,I like it on the blue fabric.I have one of Gittas charts in my to do pile called Enu and Husky.Looking forward to more pics.
When you get around to stitching yours.. watch your symbols. In my chart, one of the greys is a dark O and one of the browns is a light O. One of the browns is II and one of the skin tones is III. For only having 20 or so colors in this chart.. I think its terrible to have symbols that similar. Both of those I had to frog after realizing my mixup.. I couldn't figure out why the face looked so strange.
The other chart pack I want of hers is the set of 3 playing in the snow- I really only want the one carrying the snowshoes. My little Eskimos will be going up to our cabin where we all stand around a fire.. just like the picture shows. We also snowshoe and cross country ski which is why I want those charts as well.

That is bad, having such similar symbols :-(

The eskimo charts sound perfect for your cabin!

thanks for the warning,it drives you mad when symbols are similar, you're bound to go wrong.I think mine must be an old printing as the chart is on brown paper.

Over New Years, I was at my cabin. So I had to bring my Eskimos with me.
This is my progress so far. The first guy is almost done. I've got just a few white stitches in his coat trim to finish up. And then the snow around his feet.

:applesauce: Great Job. That is going to be so perfect in a cabin where I imagine it can get a bit chilly at night and a fire is warm and cozy. I can almost feel the heat on the little Eskimo's bun. This is so cute.

:applesauce: That is so cute. And their little bottoms are so precious you almost don't have to look at their heads. You are making great progress. I love this one.
