So here is the small amount of progress I have managed today. I have decided to start on the castle in the top left corner as there is no back stitching, beads or tricky stitches. Its my first time using Jobelan and I'm finding it interesting to say the least. I love the nice drape and am getting used to the smoothness. I am finding the holes harder to see but I will adjust, no doubt, the more I work on it. Also had to do some quick actions to stop fraying round the edges as my word did it start to unravel fast

A great start and I love the fabric too - it is most unusual. I have just bought some Jobelan and was interested in your comment on it as I am wondering about the shinyness of it.

I love jobelan, but boy do you need to sew the edges!!
Great start, look forward to seeing even more progress. I'm a real Joan Elliot fan as well, but her dragon is my next project! (or the autumn fairy....)
willow wrote:Lovely stitching Have you seen the new garden fairy series in the latest cross stitch collection mag, the first one is the ladybird fairy.
She's in my Joan Elliott plastic chart holder along with all the other magazine fairy and goddess designs which have "one day" tagged to them
Can't believe I've made a mistake already I added an extra line of stitching to the big towers (between the window slots) so have had to back and re-stitch. Don't mind too much as it wasn't that much but it does remind to pay close attention to the chart in future
