well im still impatienlty and irritatingly awaiting my threads from cross stitch heavan, so i decided to run out and buy one today from Boyes so i can finally start stitching, its a small start but a start non the less, Im quite a slow sticher :-( this took a few hours
Image

on another note, how do people hold or control their fabric when its huge?! im having alot of trouble with it which is why i think its taking me so long.

:applesauce: Good start. I don't think that is very slow at all and every stitch is progress. this is going to be so amazing as you go through it. I will be looking forward to your updates.
As for dealing with the fabric, for regular projects that I use the qsnaps I roll up the fabric and tuck it in the q snap fabric cover. With hoops I just sort of roll it up and use a clip if I can. With the afghans which just have so much fabric, I just kind of roll it up and work around it. I guess that is an advantage for those who use frames as I imagine the extra fabric is rolled around the scrolls? I would experiment with a few different things and see which one you are the most comfortable with.

I use a Qsnap on my BAPs and I got some Qsnap covers so I just tug the extra fabric into it.

So my threads arrived today and i think i've messed up my design already, because of my impatience i went to the shop and bought a thread to get started, I had to convert to Anchor since thats all my local store stocks. and the colour im suppose to be using is a little darker because it has a blue tint to it :-( My partner suggests i just carry on with the colour im using

Great start :applesauce: :applesauce:

Too bad about the shades not being exact. I'm just as impatient though, which is why I now have the full set of DMC - you always have enough to at least start a project.
About carrying on with the same colour though, is there a large block of the colour you're using? If so, and if you want to go onto the colour (presumably it's DMC) that you should be using, you could grade the colours together, i.e. use a strand of the Anchor and a strand of the DMC together so you've got a bit of each colour, do a few stitches around the bit you've already done, then go to 2 strands of the 'correct' colour so that the two shades merge together. It'll save you having to start from scratch if you want to use the correct shade.
Hope that makes sense!!

:applesauce: You have gotten a lot done so far. I imagine it will slow down a bit with a lot of confetti, but it will be worth it once all those colors come together and make a beautiful image.

:applesauce: great update. It doesn't look like the confetti has slowed you down too much at all.

OMG OMG OMG O loooovvvvveeee War of the Worlds. I know Forever Autumn and Thunderchild by heart as they are my favourite parts. I actually had to replace my CD a few years ago because I had played it so much it got scratched and wouldn't play anymore.

You are making great progress on this one it looks fabulous!

Great progress! :applesauce:

As for big projects, I use scroll frames of adequate width - q-snap frames don't work well for me with big stuff - as you say, the fabric gets in the way and it can get grubby and damaged. Gimme a scroll all the way for big stuff!
