Serinde....I've done that one...what a lot of backstitch wasn't there!!

I didn't use blending filament/gold thread but a 'gold' Anchor colour still looked good on the finished item. Mine is now a cushion.

Oh, heavens yes. The backstitch was relentless. For once, I actually did it as I went along. I'd stitch about half of a side and then do the backstitch. By the time I got to the fourth side I'd figured out efficient pathways. As a consequence, I have an awful lot of the blue thread left.

Really beautiful design! Look forward to seeing it as a cushion, though I'm with everyone else, it's too beautiful to be used!!

That's just beautiful (both of them! )
I too have discovered New Stitches. What a lovely magazine!! Not just lovely cross stitch designs but blackwork and Hardanger too. Lucky old Emma finding a good supply of old editions! You can pick them up fairly reasonably on ebay, although the postage is a bit steep, as they are quite heavy.

I did that too! Each time I finished a section I did the backstitch. I felt I was really progressing that way.

Funny....I have a lot of blue left too!!
