"Met" my dh is Sunday school about 2 years before he asked me out (he was dating another gal then). Once he asked me out, in about 4 days we BOTH knew we would be getting married. Our wedding was about 8 months later. First child born 15 months after that & we will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary this December! :D

Your gift looks AMAZING & I hope they love it!

I've finished all the cross stitching, now I have to do the lettering and back stitch -.- Idk if this is my laziness talking, but I think it has a lot of detail without the back stitch...should I just plod on and do it or leave it as is???

Maybe I could just do the vines?

How pretty it is! I would do all the bs (but that's just me). I'm sure your Mom is going to love it!

The roses certainly look very good and detailed already, I'd be tempted to leave them un-backstitched

It looks really good without the backstitch. :applesauce: I would probably do the vines/leaves and leave the roses as is. I don't mind backstitching when I can tell that it is going to make a big difference. Otherwise I have other stitching to do.

The shading in the roses is really detailed, I'd be tempted to leave them - then again I'm lazy when it comes to back stitch and do as little as possible!

 beautifully stitched!! I agree with the others, the roses look fantastic as they are, if it were me, I'd just do the backstitching on the other parts!

Personally, I would do the backstitching, it makes such a huge difference, even if it is a bit of a chore! leave such a pretty design unfinished? But in the end, it's entirely your choice! If you are happy with it as is, go for it! :D

And I agree with everyone else - your mom is nuts! But it's her life and her choice. :)

Huh, one week? You really can't say your mom is losing time... I just hope that her decision is right and will make her happy =)
I would like to get married soon, too, but my mind just tells me that I should wait a few more years @rotfl:

Your work on this project is so lovely =)

That is a beautiful project. :applesauce: :applesauce: If it was me I would do all the BS but I enjoy it so that is not a fair question.

Yes I hate back stitch too!! I prefer designs without it but I think it will add to the detail on this one and be worth all the effort. Although it does look really good already :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

 well that is short! but i can say..my parents knew each other for a few weeks, moved in together, and got married a few months later..and they've been married almost 30 years with no problems ...so it can be done lol..I moved in w/ my husband in a few months time but we decided to live together for a year before marriage..even though we got engaged quickly..and we are on our 9th year with no problems

best of luck to them..and your progress is great! :applesauce:

Lovely stitching and I think I'd go for the backstitch too - it always seems a pain but does look great when finished

I would do the backstitching just because I've seen how backstitching really brings detail to pieces.. but if you like it the way it is.. no one would know but you.. and well us now  It looks gorgeous!

Great progress! I would say it's your preference about the backstitch. Definitely get the rest done first, and then see where you're at time-wise. That may make the decision for you. It looks beautiful!
