Check out Ebay for cheap kits.

My recent purchases have included 2 x Flower Fairy kits, A Digger & DMC Curly Tail (All decent sizes) all of which have cost under £5 each including p&p.

I agree with Mrs MBK, if your looking for a large freebie chart you can't go too far wrong with a HAED!!!! No backstitch, no special stitches, just crosses!!!!

the DMC club is also not bad for bigger freebie charts.

I agree that the HAED free charts are a good idea if you want a big chart and there are some really great ones. I've downloaded quite a few though not started them yet. If you like animals the Freebie Christmas Chart is really lovely. We have a member who has done that one but I can't find that thread. Also the DMC Club site has some great free charts. I am also one who hates kits so have no suggestions there. Good luck and remember to post updates on whatever you decide to do.

I have a Butterfly thing. really vivid colours, or a palm tree in a pot. by no means "small" probably at least 9inches+

if you PM your mailing address i can donate a kit. I know i will probably not do them (for a long time anyway) You are more than welcome to have one of them (Lucky dip style)

You could also try carboots as you can get the occasional bargains including magazines or full kits. I bought a kit ages ago on a carboot and sold it on eBay just before Christmas due to being stored for over 2 years. I bought it for just 50p and sold to someone from China for over £50!!!

I may have some charts around here somewhere, what do you like to stitch?

Hi Zoe. Well I like stitching animals, or scenes. But I have done various things so far, mostly small. Not had the means to do big ones but definitely wanting to get going once I've got the stuff needed. I would be very happy at anything you could offer. xx

Kate do you have a 'The Works' where you live?

There is someone on the Facebook page who has picked up some kits in their local outlet for £4.99.

Might be worth a look

Glad to help a fellow stitcher as someone who has been helped in the past. The kit was a gift from a stitcher from America whose only condition was that it be stitched or passed on for free not for profit. So glad you liked them all (99% of the charts anyway lol) Have to say I only posted them at 4.30pm yesterday so wasn't expecting them to arrive so soon lol
