Maud, great idea thanks! I have no doubt I will be able to solve it once I get back to that project :) shelf liner may well be a good solution.

I have a major b'day coming up next week, and DH got me a stitchystand (aka floorstand).

The Mark2 floorstand from Hearthside Craftworks in Canada.http://www.hearthsidecraftworks.com/" target="_blank" target="_blank

It has clamps for qsnaps and comes w/30" scroll rods.

I like the wood and the wide base (fits the base of my stitchy chair quite nicely).

My sessions are less tiring and my stitching is really alot of fun. (always was fun, but, you know what I mean...) It's very sturdy and I'm very happy w/it.

I know that whatever stand you all go with, it will be the perfect one for you :)

I got my Lowery as an anniversary present last year and this year CGM being framed was my anniversary present! To most people that would seem like the worst anniversary present ever (very unromantic!) - but not to me and you guys on here!

Not unromantic at all !!!

It means our dh's know us well and support us. They know what makes us happy and they're not afraid to give us that.

I am very grateful for all our guys ... :)

That's the best sort of present because it shows they take an interest in what we enjoy!

My hubby came home with an electric plug many moons ago!

All wrapped up in pretty paper.

Then opened up the boot of the car.....and there was the food mixer I'd been wanting!

It was expensive though because I couldn't find anything similar in the UK so imported it in from Texas, but it's a joy to use.
That looks so nice! My only reservation about stands are those wooden scroll frames. I bought and tried one from my local craft store and it was such a trial to get my current project onto it. The wood wasn't sanded down and I was so afraid it would tear the fabric when I was putting it on and taking it off.

Is there a trick to putting them on scroll frames so the fabric is tight? I couldn't get it to tighten (or even scroll actually) and I ended up just returning it because it wasn't worth the $15 or so I paid for it. Or maybe I just bought a crappy one?

Texas is like, right next door to me (sort of, Oklahoma kinda gets in the way) so I know shipping wouldn't be terrible. I still love my hoops but I know my back would love it more if I didn't have to lean forwards.
