I'm still baffled by how you ladies stitch with your dominant hand underneath. I've tried and I just CANNOT get used to it. What I have discovered, though, is that if I keep the tips of my fingers against the surface of the fabric after I've pushed the needle through, my hands can each feel where the other is and it helps my non-dominant hand find the right hole from the back of the fabric. Hurrah for proprioception!

I never really paid much attention to which hand was on top and which was on bottom. So last night I paid attention and my dominant hand is on top. I don't have a problem with finding the hole with the bottom hand but I have been stitching 2 handed for about 3 years. Not sure how it was when I first started stitching this way.

I can do either dominant or non under but then I can write with both equally well too ... I use my dominant hand because it's quicker and the angle I sit to stitch at works better that way but I noticed over the weekend if I sit in a different chair with my chart on the opposite side my non dominant hand automatically goes underneath (never really noticed before).

I found these:

They only show the top hand, which is a shame. I worked out that in one of the videos she averages 250-300 stitches an hour!! :faint: I find myself watching these over and over again as they're sooooooo relaxing to watch.
