HAED fabric query

Re: HAED fabric query
Wow, Narita, your Eleanor is lovely! She's one of my favourite historical characters, such a strong woman, married two kings and patron to the arts etc. Apparently couldn't live without plotting, either, which got her into all sorts of trouble. (ever seen "The Lion in Winter"? In the movie version, Eleanor's first appearance shows her at her needlework, if I recall correctly.)
Re: HAED fabric query
Yep, I do all of my HAEDs two over one tent stitches on 28 count. My very first one, I did one over one full crosses on 28 count and that was really good for me too. I wanted to speed things up though, so I switched to tent stitching and don't plan on ever going back, lol! I don't test stitch at all anymore since I found my perfect combination.
It will all depend on your individual stitching tension and how happy you are with the coverage. It is different for each stitcher.
Good luck and don't hesitate to ask more questions!

Re: HAED fabric query
Some great advice in this thread, I wish I'd done some testing before starting mine, I'm doing 2 over 1 on 25ct and while most of it is fine, the confetti heavy areas are looking pretty lumpy
Don't think I can face a restart but will definitely be tent stitching the next one!

It's looking beautiful and I love this design soooo much!Naritaxxx wrote:I love 25 ct Lugana. I love that the fibers are round, which makes the cross stitches plump up nicely.
I started a HAED called Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine. I'll post a list to where it is on my blog. I really ought to repost her picture, I've complete more of her lovely self

Thank you for your wonderful replies.
I, too love Eleanor of Aquataine in fact... heres the first one I did

That was years ago (I think I did it in 2003). It was before I knew about different kinds of fabric (I used 18ct Aida) and it was before I learned about railroading, so up close, some of my stitches don't look so good. I would see other people's stitches and have what I called "Stitch Envy." No more Stitch Envy for me, I railroad every stitch, top and bottom! lol
I was reading what I wrote... "I'm pretty sure I will never do one of these again" LOL
I guess time really does heal everything. (also why women have more than one baby)...though I didn't. haha
Anyway, this is a different picture of her. The colors are lovely in person. Blended sooooooo nicely. But there was 129 colors, (many counted as blended ones)
