Carolyn, this is an amazing piece of work. I wish I had anything even HALF as good!
If I can show my silly little Teddy and other tiny projects, you 1000 times more, can show this fabulous piece.
Can't wait to see the updated pictures.

Wow. The work in that is incredible. And to restart it, too. A real labour of love, I guess. Beautiful.

No need to be nervous here we know the work that went into that project and you have done a fabulous job in a reatively short period of time considering the amount of work that a project like that takes. :applesauce:

It's a wonderful piece and something that you should be very proud of -- it's not everyone can tackle such an extensive project, and it's so beautifully done, too! (Good luck with the beads!)

It's so gorgeous! I was thinking of stitching this pattern too but was frightened about so much work.

Frustrating Update----
I'm am inches away from finishing this piece and I ran out of the gold metallic thread. My LNS doesn't have any in stock so they are ordering some for me, but that will probably take a week. :x
Sooo... I can't finish the wording or border. I move on to the beading (I usually do that last) and discover Mabel was indeed correct (you are so smart). The beads called for are too large. Honestly I didn't think there would be a significant size difference between 16 ct aida and 20 count Lugana, but there is. My LNS is closing at 5:00 and I'll never make it there by then. They are closed Sunday and Monday. I've worked on this project every day since I began and now I am going to have to wait at least until Tuesday and that is providing they have the petite beads in stock. I'm not a person given to angry outbursts but I find myself dangerously close to yelling at something. The hubby and the dogs probably better steer clear for a bit. I'm venting to you all because: 1) you can't hear me yell and you can always just stop reading  and 2) maybe there is a chance that some of you have been in this situation. It's too bad there isn't a smiley for whining (or is there?), I'd have used it for sure.
I'll post pictures as soon as I am finished. Thank you for letting me let go. Whew! I feel better now.

Isn't it always the way??!! I always though LNS need to be open on Saturday and Sunday and closed during the week. I always find I need something on Sunday and have to wait until the following Saturday before I can get over to the shop to pick it up.

The picture is lovely. I've never done one of the L&L but have been tempted and I may have their Sants in the stash someplace.

I understand your frustration, and you have done well to come here and give it a go, we are here to listen.

I am lucky in a sense, because there is a big shopping mall in Budapest, not too far from our place, which is open at the weekends and there is a small LNS. The prices are horrible, though, so I only go there when in a real need. It happened only once or twice, but it is good to know it is there.

Thanks for all the encouragement. Sometimes it just helps to know someone else has been where you are now. I am much better today, and my son came over last night so I have a few pictures of my progress. My groom now has a head, my bride has her viel. I'm sure they are both :D .

This is a close up of the wording. I got as far as "United in M...". The dates and names call for DMC 823 and I started them but was not happy with the look, so I am altering the text style slightly and I am going to stitch them with DMC 3371 which is what is called for in the backstitch on the large gold letters.

Thanks again for letting me rant and rave. You guys are great!
