I'm not into fairies, but she is quite cute... :) And I  the dragon mum and child!  Awesome doing it with a needle parked in your hand!

Finished these up today and yesterday. Wondered what to do so I experimented and made them into bags! A little "rustic" as I'm still a novice machine stitcher and I only had a fat quarter to work with so had to make the back a bit smaller and bring the front round the back, but that actually helps give the bag some open space inside. I've put iron on stuff (forgot the name just now) on the back of the stitching.

I chose the blue fabric for the dragons as it has swirls on it and it matches the clouds. Now I have to make myself use them and not just hang them up and be too afraid to use them!

I love that you made them into bags!! I've been thinking about doing that with some of my finished projects that are just lying around. Yours look beautiful! Great job!

Well, Niki, if you find them going unused, I'll PM you my address; I have a thing for tote bags. :-)

I love the idea of turning them into totes...I just might start doing that with some of my stuff. My walls can only hold so much, and a lot of what I want to stitch is just because it looks fun, not because it matches my decor.

Lovely stitching and I'm so impressed that you could do that in hospital.

Love the bags that you've made with them. They look beautifully made :)

Those are so lovely. I really need to learn how to sew, that is a great way to display your work. Just wonderful. I love dragons too!

I do not know how you stitched with that needle in your hand as it looks like it's placed in a very tender area. I'm guessing your veins are difficult to access. Sorry, I'm a lab tech and I take notice of these things. I also take notice of the beautiful stitching. I admire your bags too, as I'm not much of a seamstress. They are one of a kind!!

Thanks Cabelltech, it was in a tender place! I had to sleep with a sock over it....I've got good veins, it's just that my hands have been used rather a lot for canulas....

Not looking forward to where they'll put the next one....I've stitched with it in my elbow, but that was harder. Maybe I can persuade them to put it in my ankle next?

And guess what! I actually used oneof the bags! I was worried that I would just leave them and admire them, so I'm proud of myself getting them out and about.
