Wow, thats a massive project! Good luck, I only joined this forum today, but Ill be watching here until you are finished!! Good luck!!!

Re: Susan's HOED!

I can FULLY appreciate how much work has gone into this piece of work - and that is ALOT of work!
You've made an absolutely fantastic start and the colours are gorgeous - love all those bluey, greeny colours!
The finished design will be ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

Out of interest, what is the finished size and stitch count?
Don't know about you, but it motivates me to know that someone is as crazy

Please keep us updated on ANY progress - no matter how small it looks!
Well done so far xxx

Re: Susan's HOED!
Thanks everyone for all the encouragement - I think I'll be needing lots more before long (and hugs, cakes, chocolate, more chocolate etc).
I love Amy Brown's art on HAED - it's a shame these take so long to complete or I'd make a whole set! Nic, it was you starting your HAED that finally got me going - now we need to find a few more mad people to join in - I think Serinde just needs a little more persuasion...
The finished size is 19 x 14.5 inches (475 x 364 stitches). After a few false starts, I'm using 25ct Lugana, 2 over 1 and stitching using continental tent stitch. (And no, only last week I couldn't have told you what that means, but Rose and Mabel have been educating me!)

I like that. Oh and don't forget pictures ^_^ My role in the forum is to make y'all laugh and fix picture issues

Re: Susan's HOED!
Yes, indeed.

Re: Susan's HOED!
I love the Amy Brown designs on HAED, but i don't think i could face doing them myself because they have so much fairly plain background.

I'll join you eventually, if you're still working on it about 2 years from now! j/k Seriously, I already have my eye on a HAED design that I just HAVE to do! You can start a HAED support group. ;PSusanF wrote:I love Amy Brown's art on HAED - it's a shame these take so long to complete or I'd make a whole set! Re: Susan's HOED!
Mandy if I finish it in two years I'll be three years ahead of schedule

Re: Susan's HOED!
Becca, what you said got me thinking, there are so many dyed fabrics out there, it may be possible to substitute a blue mottled fabric and just stitch the lady etc

Re: Susan's HOED!
Jilly I nearly did that. You can buy the HAED designs with the background taken out. In the end I decided I would go for the whole thing - although now I can't for the life of me remember why!!

If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror
Re: Susan's HOED!

I did not realize HAED did that, it does make sense if you are short of time
