This is an old, old thread but I thought it was a goodie! I was wondering how the forum started, whether there was a group to begin with that knew each other and it just grew or what.

Anyway back to topic, I found the forum by googling, this one was the top link, and although I did have a lurk around the others, I really liked the feel of this one, it took me about two weeks to actually join and say hello though!!

I'm soooo happy I did, I feel so at home here and feel like I've made some really good friendships, even though my initial aim was to just pump you for answers!!! :P

Which issue was it featured in? I think I'd quite like to read that!

I remeber when the post came up that we had gotten a mention. There was quite a lot of buzz for a bit and then it went away. I am so glad so many of the current members found us because of that article. It has improved our board with their entry. :D
We got a mention in - Issue 186 of Cross Stitcher magazine - out Friday 30 March. Cross Stitch Forum was one of two 'top websites for chat'.
The other site was 'Cyberstitchers', which I had never heard of.

rose: you've never heard of cyberstitchers? It's like a bible to some people; I always go there for conversions, tips, and the freebies. :D

I'd never heard of Cyberstitchers before this thread! I'm tempted to have a look, but I already spend too much time on this forum, myspace and my hubby's West Ham forum (I'm a mod!! *puffs out chest proudly!!*) so I don't want to get too interested!!
