Re: Hi all stitchers
I think it depends on the subject, Angel -- I wouldn't give a man a fluffy pink teddybear cross stitch (unless it was a shared joke) but I have stitched cards for various men in the family such as sailing boats or lighthouses or gardening stuff or cricket, and they seem to appreciate it (or perhaps they are just very polite
)

Re: Hi all stitchers
Hey Miriam
,
I've had a few cross stitcher mags and have seen other ones (xstitch gold, xstitch crazy? and xstitch collection I think), and some patterns can be harder to read - some use smaller symbols or are just so large and have so many diff colours that it is difficult to see. If you have that prob though I've found photocopying/scanning and enlarging it is a great help if the quality isn't reduced greatly. Honestly though I don't buy mags unless there is a design I love - I prefer kits as I've found many mags have changed in the past few months and I haven't really liked many of the designs so I find ones I really like and then hunt them down on ebay
(think now over 20 kits and about 8 wips)

Re: Hi all stitchers
Thanks for all your support and advice
I have bought a copy of CrossStitcher (Issue 201) and I will probably stitch the passion flower. Cross Stitch Gold looks good too, especially their pattern of a barge moored by a canal with a lovely english cottage in the background.
