Thanks for all your comments and encouragement!!
Pengwenn wrote:That's a great start. Are your grids by page of instruction or some set size? Is that working for you? I'm looking to try the same thing on my next big project so I'm curious as to how you're working it.
Hiya pengwenn, its each page of the chart, it recommended doing that on the HAED website, its the first time Ive used grids and its brilliant. I normally start in the middle of a design but this way I could start in a corner, and it makes it easier to spot if I make a mistake, I recommend it for a large project!

I managed a whole day/evening of xsitch yesterday as my mummy-in-law was baby sitting for me it was bliss,so ive gotten a little futher-(I had the choice between xstitch or housework  ) but I'd like to do a little more before I put up a picture...

You made the right choice. Housework should never come before stitching, we must keep our priorities in the proper order.

You know my English is poor. What is "housework"? I have never heard this word.

My family would say that I haven't either!!

Housework is the stuff you do to keep the house clean and tidy: sweeping, washing, dusting, cleaning windows, that sort of stuff.

I always thought if it so utterly vital, men would never allow women to do it. (pace, Sam!) Imagine: suffragettes fighting for the right to dust. Guess not.

So, obviously, :ratherbe:

(Much later: it occurs to me on rereading Agi's comments that I might just have missed the ironic tone... :P )

Well, yes, you have... but no problem. My English IS poor but not that much...

I simply hate doing housework. When I was a kid, my mum made me do everything. I learnt how to clean the house from top to bottom, how to wash (by hand back then!!) and iron and mend clothes etc, everything apart from cooking - but boy, she made me hate it soo much! I do it, of course, but only when it is absolutely necessary :P :P

Or, sometimes, when I have an urgent and important job to do, like translation, exam preparation, that I try to put off, then I usually say: I cannot work in this mess and start cleaning like crazy. :P :P  But it works, because after that I can do my work easier.

I don't know what's worse, breaking a needle or losing one. I've lost two in the last two weeks (eventually found them both). It's always nice to keep a nice stash of needles handy just in case.

What size needle are you using? I always use 28's unless it is metallic, or three strands of thread, makes stitching much easier :D
