Well i start tonight, just finished organizing all the stuff for it. Boyfriend was so sweet, i told him it takes a long time to wind bobbins, especially 56 colors, and he says to me , "awe hunny, bring them when you come over my house wednesday, I'll help you wind them." Hehehe. Too bad I already got it done :( Oh well. That's gotta be a first though, a boyfriend who wants to help!!

Bless him, thats so sweet of him to offer to help with winding them. Shame u have done them all already though, maybe next time. Its the thought that counts and i think it has to be a first for a boyfriend wanting to help hehe.

Cant wait to see a pic when u start.

I am looking forward to seeing this one grow.

It sounds like you do have a sweet boyfriend. A few months before we got married, I was working on the icing roses (small enough to sit on a dime) for our wedding cake. I had about 500 of them to do. He came over one day while I was working on them and wanted a crash course on decorating so he could help me make them. He was only able to do a few that he thought were good enough, but it was super sweet that he wanted to help!

not much of an update, but it is for me. LOL. This is all confetti stitches, so this size is a size of 4 10x10 stitch squares, so almost 400 stitches so far! Oi! Looks like a whole lot of nothing so far though, but I believe these squares are the start of the head.

This is also a view of the modified parking technique I posted in tips and tricks forum, since they are all confetti stitches, i put knots uptop, ran the thread an inch or so behind it, that way the strands will eventually be secured, and i can cut the knots away when they are.

 Complicated

A nice start and great to see your modified parking method explained. I'm a visual learner so the written explainations of the methods is lost on me :P

This is going to be so interesting to follow as each area will bewilder us until the picture begins to unfold and we can spot different aspects.

Well done and please keep us updated.

i know :( i only know what it is by finding the center of the picture and i kinda see some of the surrounding black areas that match the wings of the dragon. i believe i am stitching the face of the dragon right now.

It's going to look wonderful as you progress -- don't get discouraged by it looking like nothing much to begin with, just give yourself a treat for having done so much already, and frequently look at the picture of what it's going to look like when it's finished!

Great start! :applesauce: It can be difficult and discouraging when you've already put a lot of work in and can't tell what you've actually done. That can definitely be a problem with complicated/full patterns. Keep up the good work!

Sammy, nah I worked on it at his house last weekend, so he actually took the time to sit there and watch me do a couple stitches to see how it all worked. when i explained to him that that square i was working on was 400 stitches, i got this look:

He thought i was joking at first and said holy *#@(& you're kidding me. No hunny :) LOL.
