I've been doing a lot of CCS in the evenings, but not much to show you all yet. Just this Pippi Longstocking birthday card for my DGD which was so much fun to make. The CCS motif was originally going to be a Halloween card, since her costume was Pippi, but with two babies coming along, there just wasn't time, so it became her BD card (7 years old). Sorry these are sideways, but I can't seem to fix the problem with TinyPic.

I haven't kept up with my CCS card making so far this year, but did manage to get some Mother's Day cards finished in plenty of time to mail. All charts were internet freebees. The pitcher with tulips chart came from DMC; the garden chair was from Permin; and the sunflower came from a French site. I really appreciate the wonderful free charts offered online.

Love your cards and all the motifs are so lovely with the bonus of being freebies.
Stitching little cards is a bonus as it gives you lots of finishes. I often intend to do some but so far seldom get around to it.

I totally agree! A stitched card is special because of the time and effort that goes in to making it. I know your daughters will love them!

Finally a little more progress to share. I made anniversary cards for DDs (July and August anniversaries) I finished the cross stitch charts a while ago and just recently made them into cards. They were free charts from Dorene Jones (left) and Ellen Maurer-Stroh (right).

Squirrel ~ The background is fabric wrapped around white cardstock; then the motif is machine stitched onto it with a piece of quilt batting behind it to give it some depth and so the fabric doesn't show through the holes in the Aida; and then it's glued to the actual blank greeting card.

I really need to get here more often!

Here are the Advent mittens I was working on for the last year and a half. Finally finished, and my DGD will receive one every year unless/until I decide to give her the rest all at once. The charts were gathered from freebies on the internet and various magazines (many from Stoney Creek) and CCS books.

Not CCS, but machine embroidery, I have made these Advent stockings for another DGD.

This is a birthday card for DD#2 with a Durene Jones freebie, plus some machine embroidery.

And lastly, I made this tote bag for DD#2's birthday. The CCS chart began with Lizzie Kate's "Cat Lessons for People", but I changed it up quite a bit with some different wording and small charts from different sources.
