Wonderful update

I love that it made me feel that Christmas is indeed not so far away now

I finished the stitching portion of the stocking a couple days ago and forgot to post the picture. Excuse the wrinkles - it was fresh off the Qsnaps when I took the picture. I have a couple different backing fabrics for it (I couldn't decide when I was shopping and the selection was limited) but I haven't even dragged out the sewing machine yet. When I get it finished as a stocking, I'll post it.
I'd like to get it done this week as her dad might be in town over the weekend and I could give it to him to take home.

What a little beauty that one is Debby so bright and colourful. Hope you get it together quickly and easily and hand it over. Something very satisfying about finishing Christmas stitching in good time.

(She's like a sister to Katrina, the owner of Tinkerbell.) She just graduated college and will soon be off to Boston University to begin work on her PsyD. My friends also said they want one for Dipali's boyfriend, but I have a rule - no Christmas stocking until there is a wedding ring on the finger.
And this is where I was last week - I haven't uploaded current pics since. I'm hoping to get more done before vacation in a couple weeks. I'll be taking some stitching with me, but smaller pieces that are easy to tote around and set aside while I'm sipping on a cocktail (or two...). I also can't take it because Dipali will be there and she doesn't know about the stocking.
The colors in the photo are off - the fabric is actually white (28 count Lugana). After all the blended needles and confetti of Tinkerbell, it's nice to stitch something like this, although the snowman (snowlady?) is two plies white and one strand of Kreinik blending filament.
I love this pattern.

It's so cute!!! Do you think you will have it done in time for Christmas?

I hope so. I just need to find a day when I'm not rushed, get my sewing machine out, and get busy with it. I have to work the next three evenings, Saturday I'm volunteering at the library and have a concert that night (Colbie Caillat) - maybe Sunday after church and the farmer's market, unless I get energetic about it before then.

You're doing well with this! Lots of detail, but I guess there's some relaxing blocks of colour too!
It will be well received, lucky Dipali, she'll love it!!

What a great stocking! And I quite agree, mere boyfriends don't qualify for one until they've demonstrated they'll be a permanent fixture
