Thank you Mabel. I traced the design on the fabric (after printing the PDF) first with the water soluble pen I use for gridding and went over it with a pencil. It seems okay and I'm going to try that. If not, I will try what you suggested, especially if I find that I am doing more stitching in Rosey's room than in my dining room with my stand and magnilight and assorted equipment that I seem to need. Even if this first attempt isn't great, it will serve as a practice piece. I'm planning on framing it and giving it to the amazing vet who spent an hour with me last week, reviewing what I've been doing with Rosey and getting suggestions as to how to keep progressing. And she didn't charge me a penny!! This is the same amazing vet that helped Shirley make it to 16 and Laverne to 19.
Now see if you can figure out which design I'm planning (hoping) to stitch.

Once again I am making a short story long, so be warned It's been two months exactly since Rosey came to me and we have made great progress. She is much more comfortable and even getting bossy! Always a good sign. She still spends most of her time in "her" room and thinks I should move in there with her. At night I have a trail of little kitty dishes, each with about 3-5 Temptation treats), which lead from the end of the hallway into the living room with a branch towards my room. Been doing that for about 6 weeks to get her used to those rooms. Looks silly. Sounds silly. But it works! The last few days she's been venturing into other rooms to get my attention and to tell me to go back to her room. Now. I still spend plenty of time here but have slowly decreased it and she doesn't like it! The last few nights she would wonder into my room and then back off. Last night she was very insistent and kept coming in. I finally picked her up and put her in my bed. She stayed for a while. Left. Came back. Jumped on the bed. Stayed. Left. Squeaked that she desperately needed me in her room. I didn't buy it. We went through that quite a few times. Not sure when she gave up because I finally fell asleep. Was not alone when I woke up this morning. I know this is a big step for her, but I also know that we still have a long way to go.
I have even more respect for people who adopt rescue animals that have so much more to overcome than Rosey does. I can't imagine what it takes.
Thanks for listening.

Sounds like you and Miss Rosey are making great progress! Your patience and love are going to be the best means of helping her feel at home throughout the house. And snuggles like in the picture are just the best reward ever
Oh, that's lovely.
Lucky cat. It's amazing how stubborn cats can be. But you are making progress, well done.
When we got Rooster he wouldn't eat with our other cats. We fed him in the conservatory for a month. Three years later he still tries to shepherd us there when he's hungry. To get there, he has to pass the normal feeding spot, which always has food. But it's not 'His' food. Hrrumph.
Rose is making definite progress - you’re a good kitty mom. She sounds like a great kitty and I’m eager to hear more Rosey stories (and see more pictures).
