Yay - I always liked Spock best, too. I never wanted to paint Captain Kirk.
I liked Sulu as well.

LOVE the painting. I can't draw/sketch/paint etc for toffee. I am truly in awe of anyone who has this talent. Thank u for sharing the photos.

ANYBODY who can write can draw, if they make the effort. I promise!

My dad always said he couldn't even draw an apple at school, and was considered totally unartistic. He believed it - until I mentioned that writing was drawing; if you write, what are you doing but drawing very complex shapes on paper? My dad looked struck - then thoughtful. A few months later he was drawing portraits of my children that were very recognisably my children! He was so proud! And so was I!

Not everyone can be a great artist, but everyone CAN draw! In the past, the daughters of all monied families were taught to draw and paint as a matter of course, just as they were taught to sew, embroider, play a musical instrument, and ride horses!

If I could find, I'd post it. I think it was better than the spock, actually. Damned if I know where it went, though.

Wonderful work truly. I unfortunately do not have an aptitude for drawing unless I concentrate really hard which means I do not enjoy it as much as I could. I do like your Mr Spock though! Ihope one day you do find time to pick it up again to get some enjoyment out of it.

I hadn't seen this before either, so I'm very glad it's re-surfaced!! The painting of Spock is fantastic, I honestly thought it was a photo at first glance!!

What a taltented person you are, you shouldn't hide such talent away but share it around.

Everyone has talent, mysterystitcher. Don't knock your own - your stitching looks fine to me!
Besides - you don't know what you can do until you try something. I didn't know I could draw till I tried, and then practiced, because I really wanted to do it. I'd never have made a great artist, but I had fun doing art anyway, which is what matters. Same with stitching. I taught myself to handsew baby clothes for my children and toddlers (a case of having to!); I write stories and the more I write, the better they get (though I'll never be a famous author!)... I've taught myself lots of things. I like learning. And I've always liked to know stuff most other people don't! Vanity! Oh! Vanity!

Vanity, indeed. I admit, I have been so relieved, happy and proud, when Project Y has left my household I have sighed of relief and rewarded myself with chocolate or something.
