I went thru a month or two ago and made a list of all of the kits, patterns, and fabric that I have. I have a spreadsheet of all of my floss so I just added to it. If I've made a pattern/kit or have it to make for a certain person, I have a note next to it. Some of the fabric is already marked for special projects so I have that note made, too. It helps me feel a little more organized, but I don't have all of the small freebies listed. There's just too many of them right now!

I'm new to the forum, but last night I went to look for some floss cards to take with me on my trip (this is my regular stitch time) I love to relax at the beach and do a project. Anyway, when I looked at my stash I realized I really need to organize. I loved the idea of a spreadsheet. I think I will do that with my sewing material too. I have stashes for knitting, quilting, sewing, crocheting, cross stitching and tatting......it's a good thing the kids are all grown up and gone so I have more room to spread out. And..I can't pass by a sale or craft store without stopping. We have the greatest little 5 and dime in our little community that is great for us crafters ........... I need more room for my stashes. Well I'm off on my holiday with 2 projects and I will let you know when I come back if I complete one of them

You can never have too much stash, you just have to remember what you've got...and  I forget also! At the moment, im just trying to get all the dmc threads together so I can put my hand to them instead off missing out numbers when i go to stitch something then have to order it, leaving me stitching something else instead!

Organising and re-organising stash is one of the most relaxing occupations EVER! (Unless you're bobbin winding and the thread tangles... a word of warning, do not allow fine Chinese silk to start tangling :-( )
I'm having a lovely time winding my Eterna silks and the Australian ones I got recently, and every now and again, I check my fabric stash and stroke the really nice soft hand-dyeds :-)

I haven't nearly enough stasah - I really need to get more  At least I need to get more fabrics.

I have almost all the DMC regular flosses - twice or three times over. I bought the required colours for my Predator, then I bought the required colours for my Chinese Dragon and then Simon bought me 50 colours for my HAED and now I've got loads all the same because I didn't check each kit before I ordered more. What a tragedy! So my idea is that I need to buy more fabric in order to use all the floss. @rotfl:
