Having taught English language, literature & history to Dutch secondary school pupils for years, your "set of wives" appeals greatly to me! But I think they're a bit too big and detailed for me

-- I simply haven't got the stamina for anything this size!

Just an extra bit of info. taking into account your comments about the size and scale of the pieces Mabel.
The portraits are BIG and very time consuming after doing Katherines dress I never wanted to see another black cross stitch ever again! But it was worth it, the portraits are on a design area of 216 x 288 stitches though around the upper parts alot of it is blank canvas as a backdrop to the faces. I always try to block colours where possible to speed up stitching time, though obviously that is not always possible especially on detail or special effect areas.
The Motto and Emblem pieces are alot smaller and again use fabric as a backdrop, approximately 3000 stitches each one. All of these smaller designs use only whole and back stitches with the exception of Anne Boleyn's where there is one fractional for the beak of the Falcon, they are on a design area of 120 x 100 stitches.
The tudor Jewels are meant to be special little designs that shimmer and can be used for cards or home decorations (coasters etc.) with a design area of 42 x 49 stitches but again the fabric is the backdrop and as an example katherines tudor Jewel has only 745 stitches.
I hope this helps for anyone considering doing one, and gives a better indication of the varying scale of the designs. If anyone wants to make suggestions on what sort of size project they would like to do in a Tudor theme suggest away and I will try and get designing

Don't you just love these portaits off women as far back as the late 1600's - 1700's -1800's?? I just love it, well done its really looking like what the original does!..I just watched the story off Henry last night on the re-runs...really is quite interesting history.

Thanks for pointing that out Lizzy, For some reason I completely failed to see your post crafterglen, apologies
If you would like to look at what patterns are available hop over to that thread/topic, if you want to stitch any of the Tudor designs message me through the forums and I will either send you the charts (no cost to you, I will cover postage in return for honest opinions

) or I will give you the private links for the charts you want. I also have a load of free random smaller designs that are all detailed and downloadable from that topic.
Thanks
Carla
