I got it from ebay, it is no specific designer as far as I am aware. It was a computer generated pattern.

It is still available

well, i did a bit more but simply can't see on black. I kept making mistakes and it's an average pattern not hard. I started to hate doing it but continued. Then, whenever I thought about doing more on it, I felt sick. I have since given up completely and pulled it all apart and wont be doing it. It is not even going to be a UFO cause I threw out the bit I did.

I felt awful telling my friend cause she was really looking forward to it but I couldn't continue. I tried all the sewing on black tricks and none worked. I wont be trying anything on black in the future.

that is a shame! is there any possibility of getting "re-energized" about it if you did it on a different fabric? maybe one of those gorgeous sparkly things that is darker to show of the pale figure but not actually black, possibly blue swirly or something.

I am so sorry you could not get on with stitching on black. Like nikecam says could you not use a different colour cloth.

Sorry to hear about all of the problems! Like the others have said, maybe you could check out some of the dyed fabrics to see if they would work for you? Or a dark grey material? Or do the pattern on a easier fabric but stitch the background black? It's a beautiful pattern--too pretty not to do just because of the wrong fabric.

Awww  Yes, a different fabric might make all the difference!

*barb*, I can totally sympathise with you. I did the same a few years ago with a lovely Wizard design. I got quite a bit done ,but I started finding it harder and harder to stitch on the black aida, it wasn't a difficult design, I tried back lighting and the white pillow case, but my eyes aren't up to the challenge of black fabric, I started to go off stitching altogether because I thought I'd failed, so I knew drastic action was needed and I threw it away..never done that before or since..and chose something else to stitch.I've never looked back, apart form the odd twinge about the waste of fabric.
Maybe if you leave this for a little while you may find a fabric that makes Pegasus easier to stitch.

it wasn't a good feeling meerkat, and I did consider another fabric but I just got to the point past frustrated and never want to see it again. It was turning me off sewing and wasn't enjoyable and the thing is, I can't do something I am not enjoying and I sew a piece with the subject depending on my mood as well.
