Ok so here is this week's progress on the Lesley Teare design;
Image

It's funny coz like a lot of you on here I don't like the backstitch when it is not neat to the edges of the cross stitch. But I decided that I hate doing fractional stitches even more so have decided to go with the backstitching as it is on the design. I'm finding that I actually like it like that!!!

Then I have also started the mini Lanarte pig design.

Looking great Liz!
I have to admit to being one of those who obssessively tidies up any backstitch and adds fractionals where needed to make it smooth.
But really, it's whatever we feel comfy with isn't it :) and your piece looks great! It seems to suit the design to look that way, if you know what I mean. (Makes it look more like a drawing).

Looking forward to seeing the cute pig appear now as well.

The mini animals are so cute -- are they a series, and are they chart only or kits?

Mabel, they are charts only from Lanarte. I have to say, for the size they are not cheap. However, if you were interested in having the charts for either or both of them when I've finished you are more than welcome.

*thinks of all the stash she already has* *thinks of how cute the animals are* *wonders what she has in her stash that she might swap for them so at least she won't be acquiring more stash, just different stash*

how many are there in total, I think you said you had three? What would you like as swapses?

Mabel, I only have two of the charts. The sheep and the pig. (I think I must have got rid of the other one I did some time ago). I know you have some paper bobbins at the moment.....I'd be more than happy to swap for some of those. :)
Mind you, that won't help you with your stash problem!!! Although, I have to say surely there is no such thing as a stash problem  (Only not having enough!)

Great projects. I'm envious you have some things displayed AND that people love it so much they want you to make something for them. Great work!

Liz, thanks for the offer but I'm afraid the card bobbins are already gone :-(. Anything else, a silk to try, some ridiculously fine fabric :-)?

We can't have that, can we :-)? Let me know when you're ready to swap, and what sort of silk you'd like to try, and I'll suggest a few things!

Am surrounded by boxes but have insisted that some stitching has to stay out til the last minute.(we are moving on Tuesday) The plan is to stitch when stressed....well in the last few days I have finished the Lesley Teare design and the Lanarte pig. I have also done a colour variations bookmark for a friends birthday.
This evening I have started doing the Stig! Does this give any indication of my stress levels?!
No pictures at the moment I'm afraid coz the lead to connect the camera to the laptop has been packed!

Stitching when stressed is an excellent method of keeping fraught moments to a minimum -- good luck!

Aww, I'm sure the move will go great for you, but it's a great idea to have stitching on hand.
Looking forward to seeing all this progress once you are settled.
