There's actually very little backstitch, but its probably all the fractionals that give him all the detail. His face, boots, hands and butterflys are the only backstitch ohh and the gold backstitch on his robes. His face is done apart from the french knots in the eyes.....but they'll be the last thing I do as I'm not very good at them and I don't want them to get squished!! My hubby thinks he looks a bit like a zombie wizard without his eyes quite finished! Plus I like him having a face while I'm working on him

Wow, this looks great so far! I know the fractionals have to be a pain, but they make him look so good!!!!

He looks fab!!! I love how fine his features are turning out to be. The robe and the hat are gonna be so cool to see bloom. How big is he gonna be in the end?

It's looking great - the detail is fantastic with those fractionals even if they are a pain to stitch.

Wow, this is looking great. I know fractionals can be a pain, but they give such great detail, don't they.

Poor Rincewind hasn't been touched for weeks, due to the frenzy to finish Snow White (I get very excited to be near the end of a project and do not a lot but stitch!). Then after she was complete I started 2 more?! (theres a logic there somewhere

) So 2 evenings ago I picked him back up and did a bit more. Most was done last night and I had hoped to finish the butterfly on his that (The few black and yellow stitches mark the start of butterfly) but I started watching The Vampire Diaries and stitching then got a bit slower. I'm really starting to like stitching on evenweave even with all the extra counting and I'm very glad I chose evenweave rather than the suggested aida it's making all those fractionals much easier and neater......
Anyways here is where he stands (or rather sits) now

I bought this one years ago too. I don't think I will ever get round to doing it. Maybe I will put it on the trade or sell. You are doing a great job with yours.

Of course there's a logic to starting two more projects - it's your reward for finishing snow white

Thanks everyone
I hope to dig him out in the school holidays (hopefully I'll have more time?!?) as I find his easier to stitch in daylight hours, so hopefully you'll see him again soon with a butterfly?!
