I visited Dunnotar Castle a few years ago and I loved it! So I'm definitely going to watch this one. Great start :applesauce:

This looks beautiful! But just had a thought - how on earth do you reach the castle when you visit it??!! Or do you not go all the way up to it? :thinks:

You know, I don't really remember, but I think there is a path on one side where you walk up the hill to the castle. I was 5 when we moved to Scotland and 8 when we left, so my memories are a little fuzzy! I definitely remember being able to go into some parts of the castle, though. Some were blocked off because it wasn't safe, but some rooms were open for viewing. I'm not sure how it is now though, that was over 20 years ago!

Here is my progress so far

Image

I am used to doing smaller projects so I just have to keep in mind this is a marathon, not a sprint! It will be awhile before I see the picture coming through :)

Looks good you might have to do a small card or two just to keep your spirits up. But I do like this one and the progress is going well!!!!

It looks so delicate on that fine linen!

Just think of each page or area of the pattern as its own separate mini project. Maybe then it won't feel so daunting when you look at the big picture.

It is looking fantastic though, very neat stitches! I agree with Pengwenn, split it up into smaller parts so you can have a sense of accomplishment!

That's so cool you've been in a castle! It's looking great!
I like the idea of thinking of it as a marathon
