Yes, i'm a great believer in sparklies -- you can get blending filaments in many colours, and they are lovely, but for a subtle sparkle I use the white pearlescent one (#032 in Kreinik and Madeira Glissengloss, #300 in DMC blending filament and Madeira no.40) with any colour I happen to be working with; I bought a 200m spool of it so I can use it whenever I like :-). It makes the colour you're working with just a little bit lighter, but not that much, and it adds a lovely sparkle.

So the kreineik metaliics that were so graciously gifted to me...i have silver and gold. I know nothing about them...would i just the metallic by itself...or if my pattern calles for 2 threads would i use on regular floss and then a metallic...or would a thread like mabel was speaking of be better!?!

Sulky threads are really quilting threads. My stitch group has been talking about them for months - I finally found them at a fabric/quilt shop. The best weight is 12ct for xstitch.

Thank you to all for your comments.

Maemae you can use it both ways that you have suggested. It depends on what you want the finish to look like, if you want the sparkle to really stick out and shine bright then you will want to use it by itself. If however you want just a subtle shine then you can use it with the floss.

Very pretty design. I have not heard of blendable sulky either so I am off to have a look!
