Rose, you should not feel the need to come and explain the reason behind why you felt the need to remove items from the forum. You are our gaurdian angel who protects us from all the nasty people who just think about themselves and thier own gain.

thats a good point faith because i too agree with roses decsion.

The poster did say she wantd to sell her mags but didn''t have time to cross stitch...this is what ebay is for.

I do notice on the front page it says ""30 posts to advertise"" and i am wondering if maybe the section should be changed so that the persons posting have to apply to post in it after thier thirty posts, but can read it if they are new and looking to buy. That is what a fashion forum i used to post on ended up doing.

i.e moderator activates the access to th froum for the members to post.

I dont recall seeing much of this ""do me thirty posts and advertise"" so maybe it wont be a problem too much.

A bit late but just to add that I totally support your decision Rose. I think you handled this really well and were in no way mean spirited at all. You were exceptionally fair and detailed in your explanations and the poster's response, even taking account of being upset was uncalled for.

One of the best things about this site is that it is just for us to share stitchy chat, tips etc with each other without being bombarded by advertisements or other requests to buy stuff. It's lovely to have the trade/sell section so that we can swap unwanted stash amongst ourselves and have it go to a good home and it's a shame when someone, however good their intentions might be, tries to abuse it. There are loads of sites out there for those who just want to sell and we are very fortunate that you're here to protect us from people using this site just for that purpose.

i havent asked for anything in return just glad to help ( hope thats ok)
as i know when i needed help there wasnt any out there
i dont blog tweet facebook anything like that just read and post on here when i can
shame the odd ones spoil it

Very much a newbie still to this forum, so I hope I don't come across as posting willy-nilly to gain access to this board... if it helps any, I do have stuff for sale but I list them on my website, and prefer to trade for items on my wishlist as opposed to actually selling.

Totally agree with the actions that you took Rose, even though I was not around when this occured, I do feel that the main reason for this forum is to come and share our work, get to know eachother and have fun. NOT make $$$ off it's members.
