fantastic finish!! Great detailing on the Samurai and you've done a great job!! The hardanger project will be a fun one to watch, I've got that chart and have been tempted to try it but there's so many other things in my to do list. It will be fantastic watching you bring it to life!!

You have done a fantastic job on him. Are you planning on framing it?
Your next project look interesting.
He's off to the framers tomorrow! If they can do it by 16th September, he will be appearing in our local Autumn Show!
Thank you everyone for your lovely comments, they really spur me on!

Wow, he is beautiful!
I really like your new project too, I've seen thepicture and it's such a fun idea

. Don't worry too much about it being "in at the deep end" -- as far as I can make out from the picture the cutwork bits are not too complex, very much what you might expect on a first project. It's just that there's so much fun stuff happening around the cut bits

First progress pic of "Hardanger Christmas House".
It's not really out of shape like that! Just the photo/snap frame distorting it! For some reason the camera struggled to take a "head on" pic!
I'm loving this one, feels really relaxing after all that intricate detail of the Samurai! Although stitching over 2 on 25 count linen feels huge after the 36 count!
My daughter asked to see my stitching, as she is usually in bed when I stitch. Her comment?.........
"what's that? It's horrible!" Cheeky Monkey! However, she decided she liked it when she had a closer look and knew it was a house!

on your new piece. It is so delicate. and such a switch from the bright colors of the Samurai and peacock, though the Christmas colors give it some pop. No comment on the comments of children. I love how they say what they think though. I'm glad she changed her mind once she figured it out.

Congratulations on your winning first and second prize! He looks absolutely stunning in his frame. I NEED this chart, I NEED this chart, I just need that right moment to fork over the dough to get it!
Your hardanger project is looking wonderful already as well! Beautiful!
I do have a question about the Samurai. What type of fabric did you use and what fabric did the kit bring?

The kit comes with 18 count aida, but I used 36 count linen. I prefer the look of linen on the unstitched bits!
My leftover threads and chart has already gone to a stitchy friend, sorry! I think it's worthwhile buying the kit, as Dimensions thread conversion tables aren't quite correct. I compared my kit threads to their DMC equivalent and they weren't the same.

This is where I bought the kit, it was the cheapest I could find it in the UK.
