I'm starting the forever friends piece for my boyfriends mum next. Hoping to get this one finished tonight so I only have one project on the go at a time and I can leave that at work and just do small card designs at home.

Nope, still not finished, but I'm now down to three colours ^_^

Just one more cloud to do, the white back stitch in her fur and the phrase.

Hey, you do what you can. The Fates conspired against you there, but the kitty is looking grand. A fitting tribute.

I know. It's a shame, I just wish Atropos hadn't cut my gramma down so soon. I'm sure she'd have loved the kitty anyway. Still, for all my reasoning There's very little I wouldn't give just to be able to give it to her.

She's getting more adorable every update -- and very nearly there now! You'll have such a wonderful reminder (or do I mean memory?) of your gramma with this. Well done you for being so brave about finishing it :applesauce: :applesauce:

The kittie is very cute.
I am so sorry for your loss, Angel. I know how it is - it will hurt for a very long time. And I can't promise that it will be better with time. It won't. (I lost my mum 12 years ago, and it is still a vivid pain).

Agi, you're right, it still hurts that she's gone, but it is getting easier to make that pain pass and to smile instead. When I think she's gone and I start to cry...like now, I just think of how she was. You know, that smile, was so beautiful. I remember when Sheffield flooded last year and I walked to her house because the buses had stopped and I couldn't get to my moms house or my new house. So I walked to grammas and when I arrived I was so soaked. I mean my fake fur winter coat, jumper, thick long sleeved t-shirt and underwear could all be wrung out they were that wet. And my gramma smiled at my arrival and it was warm enough to make me happy despite the miserable weather, and after aunty anne had re-dressed me in non dripping clothes, grammas hug was warm enough to stop me shivering...and look...no more tears, just a smile and warm feeling ^_^

I just have to keep doing that and I'll get through. I have more than enough happy memories to keep pulling out of thin air.

Mabel, I think reminder is the right word. The memory this brings back is doing it for her as she dies, but the reminder is what a wonderful woman she was and how she always did hold on and encouraged us to hold on too.

I am proud of this. And I can't wait to go get it framed and bug my dad to hang it for me ^_^

Your gramma sounds like a very wonderful woman and I am sure that she is watching you somewhere encouraging you on with this piece. It just gets better every time you post a picture I can't wait to see this framed. Well done with the french knots they look great I have been doing them for years and I still can't do them right.
