WOW Lyudmila
Congratulations on finishing a 10 year UFO I love it, all the small motifs really do make up everything that makes a house a home, a home sweet home.
The Guelder Rose is absolutely beautiful and beautifully stitched, well done.
The Butterflies are gorgeous, so colourful, a definite reminder of summer, is it finished as a wall hanging or a table runner?
The little dog is so cute, he may have only taken 2 days to stitch, but he is of your wonderful high standard of stitching.

Thank you all for your kind comments on my works.
Garnet, those butterflies were a table runner, but the receiver of the present- a stitcher from the Phillippinnes- cut off the edging and framed it as a picture. The butterflies are Australian, at least the chart is from Jan Woodman's book of charts.

Have just finished another 6 year old UFO. This photo shows its older sister. This time the tablecloth is 2.30m x 1.60m, 14 count white Hungarian Aida, so the patterns are farther one from another. Will post its photo when it is washed, ironed and Son has time for taking a photo and putting it into my computer.

That's really nice.
Has the feel of something in the Ukrainian tradition, but extending the colour range beyond the red/black and white that seems to be the normal limit of the colour range. I do like it.
Knowing what we are like with spreading food and candle wax over our dining room table, I'd be terrified to use use anything so fine anywhere near it.
Regards
Richard.

Thank you all for your kind comments on my finish.
In fact these are patterns from two issues of the Le Idee di Susanna Italian magazine.
It is a common mistake to think that Ukrainian embroidery is mainly red and black. It all depends on regional traditional colours. Our country is large(the largest European country if we forget Russia, which is Euro-Asian), so in local embroidery you will find actually all main colours. Some patterns are very bright and multicolour (like Bukovyna for one). Their traditional beaded woman shirt can weigh up to 27 kilos and is all flowers. Always wanted that shirt, but then one needs a special long weaven or embroidered velvet skirt to go with it. Made by a real master, the set would cost an arm and a leg. To make it myself- I should have started 20 years ago.
Some of my tablecloths did suffer from split coffee or drops of fruit juice, but my daughter knows a magic word and makes them like new again.

But then life shows, that real disasters are rare. Especially nice tablecloths sit in the wardrobe "just in case" or "till better times" forever, being washed and ironed from time to time (at least once in a couple of years) as the fabric needs to be aired and refreshed.
The lecture is over.

Congratulations on this great finish, it's beautiful and if I read it right, you've just finished another like and are awaiting a photo being taken? can't wait to see it, I'm certain it will be as good as this one.
Well Done Lyudmila
